Screen readers are tools that will convert all written information on the screen into spoken text. This feature will allow users with reduced vision and cognitive disabilities. It is also a great feature to make a game more accessible to younger audiences and might help to reduce play fatigue if the product features a lot of text.
The two more common implementation versions for this feature are either adding a button to each larger text prompt that will start the screen reader or simply activating the screen reader whenever something is highlighted meaning whenever a new window opens or the player selects a button.
